Novgorod resident Marina Barteneva received a letter of gratitude from the commander of the 61st separate guards Kirkenes Red Banner Marine Brigade. The woman is the mother of a defender - her son is performing his military duty in the special military operation zone. The recognition of the Novgorodian's military merits was solemnly presented to his mother by the city's mayor Alexander Rozbaum.

The ceremony took place during the ceremonial events dedicated to Russia Day. The letter of thanks, in particular, states that Ilya Kryukov, Marina Barteneva's son, honorably carries out the assigned combat missions to ensure the protection of the country's national interests.
