BRICS has encountered institutional problems after expanding its membership in 2023, and as a result, the club will not accept new countries this year. This was stated by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, which will chair the club in 2025, Izvestia reports.
"The expansion has created several institutional challenges. Difficulties arise due to the growing number of activities, some duplication of work between existing mechanisms and the lack of a consolidated and permanent register of documents and initiatives," noted the representatives of the South American country's foreign policy department.
