Fire-damaged roof of apartment building in Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky is being prepared for repairs

In Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky, specialists are preparing to begin dismantling the fire-damaged roof of a 48-apartment residential building. Currently, investigative bodies are conducting an investigation at the scene to determine the causes of the fire.

The total area of ​​the fire was about 800 square meters - the fire from the apartment on the top floor spread to the roof. 35 people were evacuated from the building.

The Chairman of the Sakhalin Region Government, Aleksey Belik, set the task for the employees of the capital repair fund and the contractor to quickly dismantle the areas damaged by the fire.

- We need to cover the building with a special material in case of rain. This will help prevent further leaks, damage to apartments and people's property. And at the same time, we need to continuously dry the premises using heat guns and other equipment delivered from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Summer is just beginning in Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky, and with such measures we can ensure an acceptable temperature in the residential building after the fire, - said Alexey Belik.

Families living in the damaged apartments have already received financial assistance from the regional government.
