Man cleans radiators in house and makes strange discovery

Reddit user sketch24 reported on the portal that he had found a military award from the Nazi era in his home. The post about the strange discovery gained more than 50 thousand likes.
"I was cleaning the radiators in my house and a Nazi medal fell out," the man wrote. He attached a photo of a worn medal with a cross and a swastika to the post. The author of the post specified that he lives in the United States, and some time ago a Jewish family lived in his house.
"I understand that many Allied soldiers kept things like this as souvenirs," "I wouldn't worry too much about it. Many soldiers who were in Europe brought something like this back as trophies," Reddit users said. Others said their families also kept war trophies. "My grandfather had a Japanese sword that he passed down to his son-in-law (my father)," one commenter noted.
Other Reddit users pointed out that the award appeared to be the War Merit Medal, which was established in Germany in 1940 to reward civilians for outstanding service in the war effort. The author of the post was also advised to sell the medal, but he said he would rather burn it.
Earlier, another Reddit user posted a photo of a creepy decoration found by his girlfriend in an elderly relative's home. Many commentators suggested that the find was a war trophy.
