NHL Announces Washington Match with Video of Ovechkin

The National Hockey League (NHL) announced the Washington Capitals vs. Calgary Flames match on the X social network with a video featuring the captain of the capital club, Alexander Ovechkin .

The league presented a compilation of Ovechkin's latest goals in the regular championship. The meeting, in which the forward will try to get even closer to the record of Canadian Wayne Gretzky , will take place on the night of February 26.

In the previous match, 39-year-old Ovechkin scored a hat trick against the Edmonton Oilers. Washington won 7-3, and the Russian was named the first star of the game day. The NHL called it an impressive performance.

Ovechkin brought his total number of goals in the NHL regular season to 882. He still has 12 goals left to score before equaling Gretzky's record.
