On my way to the big stage

Our fellow countrymen Sumishevsky are closely connected not only by kinship, but also by music. Sons Valery and Yaroslav inherited excellent hearing and voice from the head of the family Alexander. Moreover, both fulfilled their father's aspirations - they became famous artists-vocalists. Moreover, independently, without producer promotion, third-party financial injections and image tricks. Modest guys, relying only on their talent, went, as it turned out, the right way - they took advantage of the virtually unlimited possibilities of the Internet.
A graduate of the Sakhalin College of Arts and the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, Yaroslav opened his own channel on YouTube. There he posted his recordings, flash mobs, and songs performed at "kvartirniks" (home get-togethers with friends).

The Sakhalin resident's popularity was boosted by his projects "People's Hit" and "People's Makhor" (the restaurant word "mahor" means "cool musician". - Ed.). They were conceived to help talented, but little-known singers. Having gone through his thorny path to the big stage, Yaroslav led gifted vocalists who delighted the ears of mainly restaurant visitors. He sang duets with them, presented them on his channel. He brought some of them to the big stage. And he himself became a people's favorite, having gathered more than a million admirers on the Internet.
Yaroslav took part in the program “Three Chords” and performed a solo program at the State Kremlin Palace.
It is noteworthy that the song "Sakhalin - Moscow", which we present today in the project, was written especially for Yaroslav and Valery Sumishevsky by the finalist of "Narodny Makhor" German Gusev and musician Rostislav Galagan. The Sumishevsky brothers sang it with great feeling, and it is clear why: this composition is about their small homeland, the city of Shakhtyorsk in the Uglegorsk region.
- Sakhalin is the place where we grew up, where I always come to visit with pleasure, - said Yaroslav. - I will never stop saying how much I love Sakhalin for its views, beauty and the people who live there. Sakhalin is a part of Russia, integral and unique.
The Sumishevskys' repertoire (Yaroslav is a participant in our project. - Ed.) includes more than one "island" song. These are a kind of musical calling cards for the artists and spiritual threads that connect Sakhalin and the capital of the Motherland for them.
