Experts interviewed by NI also consider this trend to be entirely natural.

According to Avito Work, beauty salons are in second place in terms of popularity among the growth of seasonal vacancies, as they have begun to require makeup artists more often.

“The number of vacancies increased by 29%, and the average salary offered was 51,692 rubles per month ,” the researchers calculated.

At the same time, the demand for barbers is growing. The number of vacancies in this field has increased by 16% over the year, and the average salary for specialists in this field has risen to 129,843 rubles per month .

According to Roman Gubanov , Development Director of Avito Works, the demand for employees in the beauty industry is influenced not only by seasonal factors.

“In recent years, the number of vacancies for workers in this field has been steadily growing, which opens up opportunities for professional development, stable income and creative development of specialists,” the expert believes.

According to the analytical center " Check Index " of the company "OFD Platform", in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2024, the number of purchases in Russian beauty salons increased by 4% , and the median price - by 14%, to 2102 rubles . As hairdresser Irina Zolotareva told NI, men need to visit the hairdresser more often than women to maintain a neat appearance.

"But it's not just that. Among a certain part of our clients, a need for a ritual of self-care has formed, and for them it is an element of a certain status and prestige," the master believes.

According to experts, on the eve of the summer season, the growth in the number of vacancies and the increase in salary offers is noted not only in the beauty industry, but also in some other industries. At the same time, many employers are ready to take applicants even without work experience, responding to the resumes of students and schoolchildren who want to earn extra money during the holidays.

As Galina Furdey , Head of the Department for Organizing Internships and Assisting Employment at Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technology, told NI, seasonal demand for increasing the number of labor resources usually increases during long holiday weekends and during the vacation season.

"During these periods, the labor market develops unevenly, and the demand for professions in the agriculture, construction, hospitality, catering, beauty and health sectors usually increases. As demand for specialists in these sectors grows, employers offer higher wages and attractive working conditions to get the required number of workers, this could be paid transportation to the place of work, free accommodation, meals, and a convenient work schedule," the expert explained.

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta , the number of vacancies in the catering industry increased by 25% over the past year. This academic year, almost 170 thousand students are studying in the specialties of "Cooking and Confectionery" and "Confectioner Chef", which is 76% more than five years ago. If previously the earnings in the catering industry were small, now in most regions cooks are ready to be paid an average of 55 thousand rubles per month.

Galina Furdey notes that during periods of increased demand, employers optimize the work of companies by hiring temporary workers. Their hiring is regulated by Chapter 46 of the Labor Code (Labor Code of the Russian Federation). According to Article 293 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, seasonal work is work that, due to climatic and other natural conditions, is performed during a certain period (season), usually not exceeding six months.
