Trump to Send 2,000 National Guard Troops Amid Los Angeles Protests

President of the United States of America ( USA ) Donald Trump signed a memorandum on the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to combat lawlessness amid protests that have erupted in California against the deportation of illegal immigrants, ABC-7 NEWS reported , citing White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt.

Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom said the mobilization of National Guard troops is "purposefully inflammatory" and will only increase tensions. The head of the state noted that there is no need for force reinforcements for local police.

Earlier, raids were held in Los Angeles to identify illegal immigrants. Riots engulfed the city, protesters began clashing with police. A White House spokesman considered the events a riot.
