In an interview with KP.RU, blogger Mikhail Lidin, who is one of the founders of the Harry Houdini Award, which tests the presence of paranormal abilities in scientific experiments, explained why Russians still believe in such programs.

"This is not just a TV show, but a giant advertising campaign for the entire paranormal services industry," the expert said.

He emphasized that such an advertising campaign convinced society that such fortune telling and magic are working tools. According to him, the main trick of such programs is disguise as documentary.

Lidin noted that a large number of people sincerely believe that there are psychic people who can solve some complicated cases and communicate with spirits. The greatest trust appears after the programs begin to show real tragedies and unsolved cases, adding credibility to this.

The blogger himself called the magic industry a business and does not associate it with any kind of miracle.
