A New York court has denied bail to rapper P. Diddy (Sean Combs) pending sentencing in a criminal case. According to Fox News, the prosecution had insisted on keeping the musician in custody, citing the risk of his fleeing abroad due to his considerable financial resources.

Jurors previously found Combs guilty of two counts of organizing prostitution but acquitted him of more serious charges of human trafficking and extortion. The court has tentatively set sentencing for Oct. 3, although the defense may request a delay. Prosecutors are seeking about five years in prison.

Recall that P. Diddy was arrested in September 2023 after being charged with sexual assault and human trafficking. The lawsuit from his former partner, singer Cassandra Ventura, caused a particular stir. According to NBC News, this is not the first criminal case against the rapper in recent years.

Earlier, it was reported that Justin Bieber responded for the first time to reports that he was raped by P. Diddy.
