Miley Cyrus’s Sheer Gown Wasn’t Her Only Statement on NYC Trip

Miley Cyrus brought her “Walk of Fame” lyrics to life for a day out in New York City yesterday, “walk[ing] the concrete like it’s a stage.”

For a full day of press for her ninth studio album Something Beautiful, the Grammy winner began the day signing autographs and taking photos with fans wearing a black sequin halter top with denim shorts, a black belt, fishnet tights, black and tan heeled boots, and shades.

She posted photos of the look on Instagram with the caption, “Your love not just today, but for nearly two decades means so much more to me than the words I can find at the end of a long, fulfilling day. You make my world go round. Thank you for showing up & supporting the release of Something Beautiful with me @roughtradenyc.” (That same day, Cyrus also stopped by the classic record store Rough Trade for a performance and signing.)

That evening, she went for a more risqué look when she was spotted arriving at her hotel in a floor-length sheer black dress with a plunging neckline. She accessorized with a gold necklace, dainty hoop earrings, and shades. She switched up her hair, too, opting for a messy up-do.

And while stopping to sign autographs, one fan in particular had a noteworthy experience to share. A man named Liam revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Cyrus signed the message “the best Liam” on his Something Beautiful vinyl. Cyrus’s ex-husband is Liam Hemsworth, so some fans saw it as a reference to him.

Later, to round out the day’s many looks, she maintained the all-black theme and wore a halter black dress with intricate line detailing, black tights, and black pumps for an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

While sitting with Fallon, Cyrus revealed that her favorite song on the new album is “Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved,” featuring supermodel Naomi Campbell.

“With Naomi, what I do is treat her the way I’d like to be treated,” she said. “Call time? 5 P.M. Glam? Lots of glam. Lots of clothes. All fabulous things.” She went on to speak more about the album and why she was drawn to featuring Campbell on the LP. “This project is such a dream and such a fantasy, and that’s what I’ve always loved about supermodels and the runway and fashion. It’s something that’s so out of this world.”
