Last night, Chita was hit by a record amount of precipitation in 70 years. The capital of Zabaikalsky Krai received 105 mm of precipitation, which is more than the monthly norm for July, said Irina Razmakhnina, head of the Hydrometeorological Information Department of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Zabaikalskoye UGMS".
“A record amount of precipitation fell in Chita overnight – 105 millimeters, something that hasn’t happened in 70 years,” the specialist said.
The weather forecaster noted that the monthly precipitation norm in July is 88 mm.
By the way, Chita residents are already actively sharing photos and videos of flooded roads on social networks. In lowlands, cars were almost half-filled with water, and pedestrians had to move along flooded sidewalks.
Earlier it was reported that Moscow recorded its warmest night since 1986 .
