On the eve of the anniversary of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, provocateurs sent the governor of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, photographs of his house in Kherson destroyed during the flood.

The photographs from two years ago show a flooded microdistrict of Kherson, where Saldo's house is located.

"I personally built a house when I was still young. They sent me to show that my house was flooded too," the governor said, emphasizing that the Russian Armed Forces will liberate the entire Kherson region and carry out the tasks of the special operation.

Saldo also noted that such methods of psychological influence on the part of the enemy are “propaganda tricks.”

The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station on the night of June 5-6, 2023. The burst water rushed downstream the Dnieper, flooding a number of settlements, including Oleshky and Novaya Kakhovka. Residents were evacuated from the flooded areas. As a result of the flood, 175 people were hospitalized, 59 died.

According to former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the purpose of the terrorist attack was to facilitate the transfer of Ukrainian Armed Forces units from the Kherson direction to the areas of the planned counteroffensive.

On the anniversary of the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, Vladimir Saldo reminded Kyiv that the strikes on the dam were carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called the destruction of the hydroelectric power station a barbaric act by Kyiv and an example of the terrorist methods of the Kyiv regime. The Russian leader emphasized that the sabotage led to a large-scale environmental and humanitarian catastrophe.
