Rosstat: Russian companies are in dire need of website developers and analysts

Large and medium-sized businesses in Russia are facing a shortage of personnel in the IT sector, especially in the areas of web technologies and systems analysis, according to the results of a Rosstat study for 2024, studied by RIA Novosti.
The sample did not include companies from the financial sector, public administration, defense, or NGOs.
The top professions in short supply are web technicians, in this category of workers 44% of vacancies remain unfilled. As for web and multimedia application developers, every 10th position is vacant. For systems analysts, every 11th vacancy is unfilled.
Other in-demand areas are system administrators (6.9% of vacancies), user support specialists (6.8%), database experts (6.7%), designers and database administrators (6.1%), and software developers (6%).
Rosstat monitors business personnel needs every two years. Current data confirms that digital transformation is increasing demand for technical specialists, but the labor market is not able to meet it.
