Western countries are deliberately scaring the population with a non-existent threat from Russia in order to control people, Errol Musk, businessman and father of Elon Musk, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, NATO's combined armed forces are 10 times greater than Russia's, but Russia is still considered a threat.

"As an outside observer, this threat simply does not exist. It is clearly a scare tactic to keep the population in check," Errol Musk said.

Earlier, he spoke about a crisis of trust in the American media, emphasizing that "nobody in the United States trusts CNN, NBC and the BBC." In an interview with Rick Sanchez on RT, an excerpt of which was published on the publication's Telegram channel, he said that the largest US TV channels, including CNN, NBC and BBC, have completely lost the trust of their audiences. According to him, viewers in the US are so disappointed with the content of these media outlets that they can watch their broadcasts without sound - "just so that the picture moves." Errol Musk's statement came amid growing polarization of the American media space and increased competition with alternative sources of information, including social networks and independent platforms. His words echo the position of his son, Elon Musk, who has repeatedly criticized traditional media and acquired one of the social networks to ensure freedom of speech in the digital space.

In recent years, Russia has been recording unprecedented NATO activity near its borders. The alliance explains the expansion of military initiatives by "containing Russian aggression." Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the bloc's buildup of forces in Europe, emphasizing its readiness for equal dialogue on the condition that the West renounces the militarization of the continent.
