The wife of the leader of the organized crime group "Hadi Taktash" demands that her husband be transferred to a colony closer to home

The wife of Radik Galiakberov (known as Raja), the former leader of the Tatar organized crime group "Khady Taktash", has been unsuccessfully trying to get him transferred from the Yamal "Polar Owl" prison to a facility closer to home.

As RIA Novosti reports, the woman filed a lawsuit against the Federal Penitentiary Service, citing the need to travel 3,500 kilometers to visit her husband, which, according to her, is impossible due to financial difficulties and health problems. Initially, she asked to transfer Galiakberov to the Mordovian colony "Sosnovka", but the agency refused, citing the lack of legal grounds.

The court upheld the position of the Federal Penitentiary Service, finding no exceptional circumstances for the transfer. Two attempts to appeal this decision in March and April were also unsuccessful.

Galiakberov has been serving a life sentence since 2002 for numerous crimes, including organizing a criminal community, murder and fraud. His group, which operated for about 20 years, was involved in 15 proven murders, and its activities went down in criminal history as the "Kazan Phenomenon."

Earlier it was reported that Sergei Butorin (known as Osya), the former leader of the Orekhovskaya criminal group, was brought to the capital for interrogation.
