Gold is not subject to Western sanctions

Russia's gold reserves have been hitting new highs for the fourth month in a row.

In May, the value of bullion in the Central Bank's vaults increased by 0.5% and amounted to a record high in modern history of $248 billion.

The share of gold in reserves continues to reach its maximum since 1999. It has now reached 36.5%, according to data from the Central Bank.

Gold from the reserves of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation is not subject to sanctions restrictions imposed by Western countries.
