The IAEA chief said Iran had expressed readiness to resume technical discussions.

"We'll see what this leads to. Our goal is to restore normal interaction in working order. The issue here is not politics or trust, but the obligations that arise due to participation in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons," Grossi noted.

Earlier this month, Iran's president ordered a suspension of cooperation with the IAEA, but Iran's foreign minister stressed that despite the suspension, channels for cooperation remain open.
