Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the preparation of further restrictive measures against the Russian Federation. "We are developing new sanctions provisions, in particular against Russian military-industrial complex facilities... The corresponding decrees will be signed shortly. At the same time, we are synchronizing the 19th package of European Union sanctions with Ukrainian legislation," he said in his traditional evening address, distributed via his Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian head of state added that the new restrictions will also affect the media sector. The sanctions imposed by Kyiv traditionally include blocking assets in Ukraine, revoking licenses and official visits, banning the transfer of intellectual property rights, terminating trade agreements, cultural exchanges, and scientific cooperation, as well as stripping state awards.
On October 23, EU Foreign Service Director Kaja Kallas announced the adoption of the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions by the European Union. The Russian Federation has repeatedly emphasized its ability to withstand the sanctions pressure that the West initiated several years ago and continues to systematically escalate. Moscow has noted the lack of willingness among Western countries to acknowledge the inadequacy of restrictive measures against Russia.
