Taekwondo athlete from Stavropol wins professional tournament in Yekaterinburg

A Stavropol athlete has become the winner of the ITF professional taekwondo tournament, the city administration press service reports.

The professional tournament RCC TAEKWON-DO PRO 2 was held at the RMC Martial Arts Academy in Yekaterinburg. It was attended by 16 fighters from Russia and abroad.

A sportsman from Stavropol Alexander Vinnikov, Master of Sports of Russia of International Class, multiple champion of Russia, multiple winner of the Russian Cup, winner of the Asian Cup, winner of the European Cup held 2 fights. He won them, won the championship belt and the main prize, and also reached the final of the tournament.

“I congratulate Alexander Vinnikov, his coach and the entire team of the Chonji Taekwondo Sports Club on their victory,” noted Stavropol Mayor Ivan Ulyanchenko.

Earlier it was reported that a Stavropol resident became the Asian champion in kettlebell lifting.
