A rare carp predator fish that few people know about

Among the representatives of the carp family there are very unusual species, and one of the most mysterious fish is the trigone. Its unique appearance and habits make this species special, and the rarity of encounters only fuels interest.
The treblade resembles an ide or chub in appearance, but its distinctive feature is its unusual mouth apparatus with wavy lips. Growing up to 30 cm, it remains a relatively small fish, but behaves like a real predator.
This fish lives in rivers from the Amur to southern China. At an early age, it feeds on plant food, but, having reached 10 cm, it completely switches to hunting for the fry of other fish. Although the trispinous fish belongs to the carp family, its lifestyle is more reminiscent of a pike or perch.
Habitat and breeding characteristicsThe tregubka chooses rivers with a strong current and avoids calm waters. Its spawning has not been fully studied, but it is known that females lay sticky eggs, attaching them to underwater objects. In Central Asia, this process is different - there the eggs settle on the bottom among the stones, and the spawning itself begins at the end of April.
There is an opinion that a separate subspecies of the Amur trigone lives in Russia, but some researchers believe that this is a completely different species.
Fishing for a triangular bait: myth or reality?Although this fish has no commercial value, it is a coveted trophy for fishermen. Due to its agility and liveliness, the triangular trout is especially interesting for fans of ultralight fishing. It bites well on small wobblers and spinners, and its landing brings a lot of emotions.
