Spawning ban in Astrakhan region in 2025

Every year, Russia imposes restrictions on fishing to preserve populations and ensure sustainable development of the ecosystem. In 2025, strict rules will also be introduced for certain species and regions.
📌 From May 16 to June 20 – a general ban is in effect, except for reservoirs located within the boundaries of populated areas. 📌 From April 1 to June 30 – crayfish fishing is prohibited.
Throughout 2025- Vobla is a complete ban throughout the entire territory.
- Roach – cannot be caught in Ikryaninsky, Kamyzyaksky, Voldarsky, Limansky, Krasnoyarsk, Narimanov and Privolzhsky districts .
- Volga estuary area – fishing is prohibited all year round.
- Wintering pits – the ban is in effect permanently (indicated in Appendix No. 6 to the fishing rules of the Volga-Caspian basin).
- Spawning grounds – fishing is prohibited all year round (listed in Appendices No. 3 and No. 5 to the fishing rules of the Volga-Caspian fishery basin).
🚫 In 2025, the following bioresources will be strictly prohibited:
- Sturgeon species (sturgeon, stellate sturgeon, sterlet, beluga).
- Herring (except black-backed herring).
- Kutum .
- Whitefish .
- Rybets .
- Mustache .
- Burbot .
- Badiaga .
- Caspian seal .
It is important to remember that violation of fishing regulations entails fines and, in some cases, even criminal liability.
