4 shanty houses were destroyed by flames

The fire broke out around 00:15 in a shanty house on Divriği Street in Yıldıztabya Neighborhood.

The flames, which started in the shanty for an unknown reason, quickly spread to other adjacent shantytowns.

Firefighters arrived at the scene after being alerted by bystanders and extinguished the fire. The fire was brought under control and extinguished after the crews worked. No one was injured, and four shanty houses were rendered unusable. An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.

"I TOOK THE CHILDREN AND RAN OUTSIDE"

Emine Balkan, who lives in the shanty house where the fire broke out, said, "My husband came and I woke up to the sound. It turned out the refrigerator was on fire, so I grabbed the kids and ran outside. I immediately called the fire department. Then the refrigerator probably exploded. Other buildings caught fire too."
