CHP Spokesperson: AKP challenges 86 million

CHP Spokesperson: AKP challenges 86 million

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel made a press statement in the Parliament regarding the developments on the agenda.

Drawing attention to the operations that started in Istanbul and continued in Izmir, Adana, Antalya and Adıyaman, Yücel said that this was an intervention not only against the mayors but also against the will of the citizens living in those cities.

Yücel said, "AKP does not respect the will of the people, it challenges 86 million people."

Reminding us of the arrest of IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and the certificate of election crisis in 2019, Yücel said, "The people will give the necessary response to what is being done to Adana, Antalya and Adıyaman today."

"CALLING TO THE BALLOT BOX IS NOT A CRIME, IT IS DEMOCRACY"

Yücel also reacted to the investigation launched against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, saying, “Where did you draw the blame from when the main opposition leader voiced his concerns about the future of the country and called for ballot boxes, defended democracy and the right to vote and be elected? Instead of launching an investigation against Özgür Özel, bring the ballot box on November 2.”

Yücel, who also touched on the attempts to ban Spotify, stated that journalist Fatih Altaylı was arrested “on the basis of a fabricated crime.” Yücel, who stated that impartiality in the media was gradually being destroyed, said, “Take Tele1, Halk TV and Sözcü TV and they are not as much as all the pro-government channels combined.”
