Letter from imprisoned mayor Zeydan Karalar to his deputy

Zeydan Karalar, who was arrested and suspended from his post as Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, sent a message to Güngör Geçer, who was elected as Adana Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor, through his lawyers.

In his message, Karalar said, "My dear brother Güngör, congratulations. May it be beneficial for Adana. I hope you continue on the path we've opened, fulfilling all the promises I made to the people, and continuing with the work. You're also keeping your promise to begin construction on an overpass on the E-5. It befits us to fulfill our promises under all circumstances. I have faith in you and my colleagues. Greetings."

Geçer also gave the following response to Karalar via his social media accounts:

Mr. President, I thank you for this message of confidence you sent to me and your team. Aware of the responsibility we have inherited from you, we will continue working day and night, picking up where you left off, to fulfill every promise you made to our people. Our greatest goal is to complete the projects you initiated, especially the overpass on the E-5, and to carry forward the vision you laid out for Adana. It is a great honor for me to walk the same path as you. With my best regards and respect.
