Minister Yerlikaya: Collecting stray animals is both a humanitarian and legal responsibility.

Minister Ali Yerlikaya, in a statement on social media, announced that they held a comprehensive meeting with the general secretaries of 30 metropolitan municipalities at the Ministry. He said, "Our meeting had two main agenda items: reviewing traffic speed signs and rearranging them where necessary, establishing the responsibility of local governments for stray animals, and increasing the number of animal shelters. It is crucial to review traffic speed signs, standardize them, and rearrange traffic warning signs for the safety of our citizens. The rounding up of stray animals, their placement in shelters, and their healthy care are both humanitarian and legal responsibilities. We cannot allow any negligence in this matter that would jeopardize the security of our nation. We will carry out this process with determination, in accordance with our laws, our civilized values, and our conscience, in cooperation with local governments."
