The Söke Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation on the grounds that state support premiums were unfairly collected on cotton sales. As part of the investigation, the District Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department teams launched an investigation into Cengiz Akgün, Nevzat Akgün, Hüseyin Aksoy, Serkan Rebiş, Kamil Demir, Murat Cengiz, Yaşar Uçak and Selçuk Alaca. Police teams detained 8 suspects last Wednesday. It was understood that the suspects made sales with fake weighbridge receipts and receipts determined to be for cotton that was not produced.
248 MILLION LIRA ILLEGAL PROFITS WERE OBTAINED
Within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that the suspects gained 134 million TL in unjust profits from state support premiums with this method, and also caused 114 million TL in tax losses. On the other hand, it was determined that the cotton in question was shown as sold to a company in Adana and that fake delivery notes and transportation invoices were used during the transportation process. In the examination of the documents, it was also understood that the vehicles reported to be carrying cargo on the dates for which the delivery notes were prepared did not move on the dates in question according to the Plate Recognition System (PTS) records.
In addition, it was learned that a portion of the support premiums received in return for the fake cotton producer receipts issued in the name of farmers were shared among the company owners. The 8 suspects caught by the police teams were sent to the courthouse today after their procedures at the police station. While the suspects Cengiz Akgün, Serkan Rebiş and Kamil Demir were arrested, the other 5 people were released on condition of judicial control.
