Arguing that this situation showed "the seriousness of the Israeli army's decisions," Halevi recalled that Israeli warplanes flew over the skies of Beirut during Nasrallah's funeral.

On February 23, a funeral ceremony was held for Nasrallah and Hashim Safiyuddin, who was considered his successor at the time, at a stadium in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
