The hay bales that the farmer saved turned into ashes

The fire, which began around 11:00 a.m. for an as yet unknown reason, began in a hay bale storage area in the rural Çilingir neighborhood of the Arnavutköy district. Driven by strong winds, the flames quickly spread, engulfing all the bales. Numerous firefighters were dispatched to the area after receiving a report from residents.

The Arnavutköy Fire Department, along with reinforcements from surrounding districts, responded to the fire. Gendarmerie teams took security measures in the area.

Neighborhood farmers rushed to the fire scene, carrying water with tractors to help extinguish the fire. Some residents directly attacked the fire with hoses. After a long and arduous effort, the fire was brought under control, leaving hundreds of hay bales completely burned to ashes.

While no one was killed in the fire, the farmer reportedly suffered significant material damage. A joint investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing between gendarmerie and firefighters.
