Tragic construction accident in South Korea: Workers trapped under bridge

South Korea was the scene of a catastrophic accident. Three workers were killed and five were injured when a highway bridge under construction collapsed. According to information from local authorities, the incident occurred at around 09:50 local time near the city of Cheonan, about 80 kilometers south of Seoul.

The bridge under construction on the Seoul-Sejong Expressway collapsed after 5 carrier beams of 50 meters high collapsed. While 8 workers who were at the construction site at the time of the incident were trapped under the collapsed bridge, many search and rescue and medical teams were dispatched to the area.

Investigations revealed that 3 workers lost their lives and 5 workers were injured. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident.
