Two shanty houses became unusable in a fire in Sultangazi

The fire broke out around 12:00 p.m. in a grassy area in the Zübeyde Hanım neighborhood of the Sultangazi district. The fire, which broke out for an as yet unknown reason, quickly spread. Residents panicked as the fire spread to two surrounding shantytowns. Residents of the flaming shantytowns fled their homes. Numerous firefighters, police, and paramedics were dispatched to the scene upon receiving the report. Firefighters are reportedly continuing their efforts to extinguish the blaze, and helicopter support is being provided. Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties, but the flames have rendered the shantytowns unusable. One person suffering from smoke inhalation was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Meanwhile, aerial footage of the burning grassland was captured. The footage shows firefighters working to extinguish the flames, which spread over a wide area, as the flames rose.
A resident of the area described the incident, saying, "A fire broke out in a grassy area. A small child saw it and alerted his mother. It spread to two shantytowns. There were no casualties. Cooling efforts are ongoing."
Another resident of the area, Gökhan Yılmaz, said, "While we were having breakfast with our family, a neighbor's child suddenly came running to us and said, 'We're burning.' We saw the fire spreading. I intervened to the best of my ability to protect my house. But we couldn't stop these two houses. We saw the fire start from the beginning. That fire spread all the way here, and both houses were destroyed. It might have burned down because this is a dry grassland. I don't know how the fire started either."
