What will the weather be like this week? Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen warned: "The new system is coming on Wednesday."

CNN TÜRK Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen issued important weather warnings this week. Şen stated that rainfall will again be effective in western parts of the country, particularly in the Marmara Region, on Monday, and that the rainfall will intensify on Wednesday as temperatures drop.

He reported that temperatures in Istanbul will rise to 24-25 degrees Celsius on Monday, but will drop 6-7 degrees Celsius by Wednesday due to the new system. Prof. Dr. Şen also emphasized that the cold weather that will follow the warming could lead to particularly heavy rainfall.

"TEMPERATURES WILL DECREASE 6-7 DEGREES MORE"

CNN TÜRK Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen's statements are as follows;

"Looking at next week, there will be rain on Monday and Tuesday. Starting Wednesday, as temperatures drop, the rain will intensify slightly. Temperatures in Istanbul are around 20 degrees. Yesterday, it was 24 degrees; today, there's been a slight drop. On Monday, it will reach 24-25 degrees again for Istanbul.

But with a new system arriving starting Wednesday, temperatures will drop another 6-7 degrees Celsius due to both rain and slightly colder air. Ankara will see temperatures drop to 15 degrees Celsius, while Istanbul will see temperatures drop to 17 degrees Celsius.

After the rain lasting until Wednesday next week, some of the rain is leaving the country towards the weekend. No precipitation is expected. Furthermore, we will see slightly more heavy rainfall this year because temperatures are still high. Therefore, cold air arriving on top of the high temperatures could bring about this type of precipitation.

Consequently, the first half of next week will be hot, with temperatures 4-5 degrees above average, and the second half will be below average across much of Türkiye, particularly in western Turkey. Rain returns in western regions on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

He added that the rains, which will begin in the Marmara and Aegean regions on Monday, are expected to spread nationwide on Tuesday and Wednesday.
