Words from the Minguzzi family that made Turkey cry: 'Ahmet was a sacrifice for all of us'

Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, the 14-year-old son of Italian conductor Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar Minguzzi, lost his life in a knife attack in Istanbul. The grieving mother and father, who participated in the "Neler Oluyor Hayat " program on Kanal D for the first time, made important statements.
“I COULDN’T WATCH THOSE IMAGES”
The grieving father, who said that they had lived in Turkey for 17 years and that they could not stay in Malta and returned to Turkey because they loved the people of this country so much, said that they had never expected the disaster that had befallen them.
Andrea Minguzzi, who said she received the terrible news on the phone, said: "We went to the hospital as quickly as possible, but when we arrived my son was in a coma. I couldn't even watch the stabbing footage."
“THOSE WHO DO THIS CANNOT BE CONSIDERED CHILDREN”
Unable to hold back his tears during the broadcast, the father said, "They stabbed my son in the heart 5 times. Those who did this should not be considered children, they should receive the harshest punishment."

“AHMET WAS A SACRIFICATION FOR ALL OF US”
"Nothing will bring my son back, but I will do whatever I can for him," said the father, adding through tears that Mattia Ahmet had become a symbol against violence in Turkey.
“My son became an angel, he became a victim of all of us. The miracle we expected did not happen, but Türkiye made a miracle happen. It showed us the existence of good people. I thank you for taking such great care of my son.”
Mattia Ahmet's mother, Yasemin Akıncılar, who was devastated by the loss of her child, connected to the live broadcast by phone. The sorrowful mother's cry once again broke hearts.
“I AM LIKE A LIVING DEAD”
The mother, who said that she never left her son alone during the 2 weeks he was fighting for his life in the hospital and that she went to him every day to give him positive energy, said, “No matter what I did, it didn’t work… I am in so much pain. I am like a living dead person, but I am trying to stand tall to get justice. Ahmet will not come back, but I will continue to fight for other children.”
“I WANT THEM TO DIE INSIDE”
The grieving mother, who said, “A murderer is a murderer,” said that those who murdered her son should not benefit from child discounts and that she wanted them to receive the harshest punishment, adding: “I want them to die inside without seeing the light of day.”
“WE WERE SO HAPPY, WE WERE SHUT DOWN”
The rebellion of Yasemin Akıncılar, who had great difficulty speaking and burst into tears, broke the hearts of everyone who watched it.
“I gave birth to a real angel. I didn’t have any more children so that I could love her more. My son didn’t call me ‘mom’, he called me ‘flower’. We were a very happy family of three. We are torn apart. It’s unbearable. I go to her grave every day. Not only Turkey, but the world heard my voice. I don’t want such things to happen to other families.”
