Ebubekir Şahin appointed as the new CEO of Türk Telekom
According to a statement from the company, following his tenure as Chairman of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), Şahin will lead Türk Telekom's efforts toward its vision of building Türkiye's digital future.

Abu Bakr SahinŞahin was born in the Çayeli district of Rize in 1974. Completing his primary education in Rize and his high school education in Sakarya, Şahin graduated from Gazi University's Faculty of Communication in 1995 and completed his master's degree in Journalism in 2002.
In this order, Şahin worked as a civil servant at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the General Directorate of Security, as an advisor to a member of parliament at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) during the Welfare-Path governments, and as Private Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, Private Secretary and Department Head at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Advisor to the President of RTÜK (Radio and Television Supreme Council), and Public Relations Advisor to the Prime Ministry during the first term of the AK Party as of 2002.
Ebubekir Şahin served as the Head of Administrative and Financial Affairs Department, Deputy General Manager, and Acting General Manager at Anadolu Agency between 2011 and 2014.
After serving as Deputy Undersecretary and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Family and Social Policies between 2014 and 2017, Şahin was elected as a RTÜK member from the AK Party quota as a result of the election held in the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly on October 16, 2017, in accordance with Article 35 of the RTÜK Law No. 6112.
After serving for a period as a member, Ebubekir Şahin was elected as the Chairman of the Supreme Board on January 23, 2019, and was re-elected on October 18, 2023, serving his fourth term as the President of RTÜK.
Ebubekir Şahin, who is married and has two children, speaks English.
