Ferdi Zeyrek's name will be kept alive in Turgutlu

In the July meeting of the Turgutlu Municipality Council, a total of 10 items were discussed and decided, 2 of which were additional agenda items and 1 was a proposal. In the decision taken unanimously with the proposal of all group chairmen in the council meeting, the name of the sports complex under construction in Selvilitepe Neighborhood was given after the deceased Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek.

"WE WILL NOT FORGET OUR INDIVIDUAL PRESIDENT"

Turgutlu Mayor Çetin Akın said:

“I would like to start by remembering with love and longing our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, whom I was honored to serve Turgutlu and Manisa together with, and whom we lost untimely due to a very unfortunate accident. Mayor Ferdi worked for the welfare, happiness and peace of this city and each of our fellow citizens in education, health, agriculture, technology, infrastructure, environment, culture and arts, and social areas, taking into account the rights of Manisa and the people of Manisa that he loved very much for one and a half years. He left behind a very clean name and legacy that we will all remember with pride. We, whose hearts beat for this city, will do our best to carry this flag left by our Mayor Ferdi even further. The legacy of my dear brother and companion Ferdi Zeyrek is our legacy, his very valuable family is our family. We will not forget our Mayor Ferdi. May he rest in peace. I would like to thank you all for the sensitivity you have shown and the support you have given for our sports complex to be named after Mayor Ferdi. We will always remember his name in beautiful places.”

Akın also expressed his concern about the forest fires that occurred in Turgutlu, Manisa and many other provinces and warned citizens to be careful and cautious.
