Harvest of the famous Çameli pole beans has begun

The famous Çameli bean, with its geographical indication, continues to make a name for itself throughout Turkey. Semra Şaylan, a 56-year-old producer living in the Gökçeyaka neighborhood of Denizli's Çameli district, has been producing the famous Çameli pole bean, which has a geographical indication, on her three-acre plot for about 10 years. Şaylan, who practices organic farming using natural spring water and fertilizer obtained from 150-200 pigeons she raises, has begun this year's green bean harvest. She explained that the pole beans, planted on April 23rd and harvested for the first time yesterday, are entirely organic and do not use artificial fertilizers. Şaylan said, "This year, I applied pigeon manure to the beans I planted on April 23rd using our natural spring water and a drip system. I first dissolve the pigeon manure and pour it into the irrigation basin. I then apply it to the roots of the beans through the drip system. I've tried it before with tomatoes and other vegetables, but I started the first harvest early with beans, significantly increasing yields."
"We obtain between 300-600 kilograms of product daily"Şaylan, stating that they produce between 300 and 600 kilograms of produce daily, said, "Our field is three acres. I've been producing both fresh and dried beans for about 10 years. We send our beans to wholesalers in surrounding provinces, especially Muğla, Denizli, and Burdur. Because we grow them using natural methods, their flavor is very popular."
"Everything we do is completely natural and organic"Semra Şaylan, noting that they begin harvesting early in the morning and continue until evening, said, "Our beans, nourished with animal manure and underground spring water, are long, crispy, and delicious. The highland air complements this flavor. Everything we do is completely natural and organic. This creates a high demand for our products. Our bean harvest continues until the weather cools in November. This year, I aim to harvest approximately 6 tons of fresh beans. We also have a separate field where we produce dry beans."
Drawing attention to the importance of organic farming, Semra Şaylan emphasized that they carry out every stage from production to harvest without compromising naturalness.
