He rebelled against the pension increase rate: I am telling those who govern us, there is also underground

According to TÜİK, inflation increased by 1.37 percent in June. The annual inflation increase was 35.05 percent. The 6-month inflation difference was calculated as 16.67 percent, thus retirees and civil servants were once again condemned to a poverty raise. Retirees, on the other hand, rebelled against the new raise rate.

"THIS EARTH ALSO HAS AN UNDERGROUND"

A retired citizen said, "They separated the retirement salary into root, branch and leaf, but the root salary does not affect our salary anyway," and continued as follows:

"Let's say he gives it as alms and the state makes up for it, 14,669. There is a poverty line, a poverty line. We live in a vegetative state. Especially if you live in a rented house, especially if you use a telephone, telephone bill, electricity, water, natural gas...

We have become troubled by thinking, my daughter. Thinking now is not a solution. Those who govern us need to think. I don't know, I am 63 years old. This is the first time I have seen this country so poor. We have given up on our basic needs. We are retired, old, this is also human. We once contributed to the production of this country. We produced, we created. I am ashamed to say I am retired. We have become beggars. I say this to those who govern us. There is also a God under this soil, I say, God. Everyone believes in God more or less. No one is an atheist either. I am addressing everyone's conscience. I am addressing the conscience of whoever is authorized, whoever is responsible, whoever is governing. There is a God, there is also a God under this soil."

"LET THE ONE IN THE HEAD GO, LET THE PEOPLE FIND PEACE"

A retired citizen who said that he shopped at the Ulus Hali and that everything was expensive reacted by saying, "How much did you spend? This is what you got. I am saying that the person in charge should come down and the people can find peace. A raise every day. Two cents a year, the retirees are paid two cents for the workers. Every day there is a raise. Every day we get up, we wake up with raises. What kind of a law, what kind of justice is this? The people are fed up. Those who voted for him are fed up too. See the decision, hear the people, make your decision already from the very beginning."

"IT IS REALLY A SHAME"

Another citizen, who evaluated the new rate of increase in retirement salaries, said, "We, as retirees, will return that money to the palace. Shame on you, it is truly shameful. Let them come here and take a look. There is no point in sitting there and making judgments from such podiums in that Parliament. Let them come and take a look at the citizens. Shame on you. We have lost our faith. Really. Shame on those people. A kilo of sour cherries is 600 liras. Gentlemen, the gentlemen who govern us. The worst house rent is 20 thousand liras in Ankara today. They kept putting a 24-25 percent increase on natural gas. What happened to natural gas? Shame on you, sin. It is truly shameful."

"WHEN THERE IS NO HONESTY..."

A retired citizen reacted to the raise rate by saying, "Honesty, honesty. But there is none. What's the point? What difference does it make if he gives a raise, if there is no honesty."

A citizen who said he retired in 2002 stated that the minimum wage was 180 lira at the time and his own salary was 360 lira, and said, "They stole the money from our pockets now. I am now receiving 16 thousand lira. He does not give anything from his pocket. I paid premiums for 27 years and 10 months. If he gives me from my premium, that is enough." The citizen asked, "Is there anyone who can go and buy a chicken or a kilo of minced meat when they are leaving in the evening?" and added:

"There is no such thing. A nation is going through hardship. Shame on them. They brought this country to this state in 23 years. Shame on me, I say. I don't say anything else. They will give a raise on July 2nd or August 2nd. Why? So that they don't get caught up in inflation in the next six months. Shame on those who brought this country to this state."

"IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF HE HAD NEVER GAVE IT"

A retired citizen said, "I swear, it would have been better if he hadn't paid anything. How much will that be? A retired person's rent is 15-20 thousand liras anyway. It wouldn't be worth anything if he paid 1 thousand liras or 2 thousand liras. Life is very expensive. Hopefully, one day we will get rid of this."

"I DO NOT FORGIVE MY RIGHTS"

The retired citizen who said that he could not buy cherries from the market said, "So there are none? You can buy them with a card. Until where? I do not forgive whoever ate them." The citizen who reacted to the 24.6 increase in natural gas said, "We do not use natural gas anymore. It is very expensive in cylinders. We do not have animals anymore, so why should we use dung."
