Investigation about Mastercad and Visa

The Competition Authority announced that it has launched an investigation into Mastercard and Visa, two companies operating in the global card payment systems market. According to the Authority, it was alleged that Turkish payment institutions did not allow businesses abroad to use their card payment systems. The investigation will also investigate whether Mastercard and Visa prevented businesses abroad from using their card payment and POS infrastructure and whether alternative payment solutions were being excluded.
