The Ministry of Health announced: 419 cosmetic products were found to be inappropriate, 61 thousand counterfeit products were destroyed

The Ministry of Health continued its inspections of product sales and promotions made with health claims on the internet, television and social media.
In this context, 1,796 websites that mislead citizens by selling products with health claims were reported to the Access Providers Association for closure, and 684 websites were reported to the Ministry of Trade.
Following inspections, criminal complaints were filed against 17 individuals and companies. A total of 92,406,941 lira in administrative fines were imposed on those threatening public health.
During the first six months of inspections conducted by the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), 606 cosmetic products were examined.
According to Türkiye Newspaper, 419 of these products were deemed inappropriate and 13 were deemed risky. Those selling products in violation of regulations were fined 4,374,148 lira. During inspections, 61,562 counterfeit and illegal products were seized and destroyed.
The inappropriate products included a variety of cosmetics, including lip glosses, hair removal creams, foam soaps and body sprays.
During TİTCK's inspections of Type 1 and Type 19 biocidal products, such as hand sanitizer, antibacterial liquid soaps, and fly repellents, 44 products were examined. Five of these products were found to be risky and three were found to be non-compliant. In this context, the companies were fined a total of 1,633,572 lira.
The biocidal products treated included antimicrobial hand and skin sprays, antibacterial hair wash caps and solid soaps.
