Trump's downsizing plan continues! New layoffs are on the horizon.

The US State Department is reportedly planning to begin mass layoffs soon, in line with President Donald Trump's policy of downsizing the federal government.

Dismissal notices will be sent via e-mail

In an internal memo obtained by the Washington Post, it was stated that the Ministry will begin sending layoff notices to employees via email in the coming days.

Support will be provided to staff

While the letter did not provide details on how many employees would be laid off, it allegedly included the statement that "every effort will be made to support the staff who will leave their positions."

Marco Rubio approved

Ministry Spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated at yesterday’s press conference that the restructuring plan within the institution had been approved by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and was approaching the implementation phase.

A federal judge in California in early June temporarily halted a State Department plan to restructure the agency by laying off nearly 2,000 employees.

The U.S. Supreme Court overturned the district court's decision, paving the way for Trump's plan to reduce the number of federal employees.

Trump's plan to restructure the federal government

After taking office, President Trump fired thousands of employees at federal agencies through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Agencies affected by Trump's order to reduce federal employee turnover include the departments of Agriculture , Energy, Labor, Interior, State, Treasury and Veterans Affairs.

Also included are the National Science Foundation, the Small Business Association, the Social Security Administration, and the Environmental Protection Agency.

As a result of mass layoffs, especially involving new hires, many unions and organizations across the country filed lawsuits against the Trump administration.
