Trump: Elon Musk Isn't Actually Leaving

US President Donald Trump said goodbye to US billionaire businessman Elon Musk, who announced that he was leaving his advisory position, at a press conference in the Oval Office.

Describing Musk as "one of the greatest business leaders and innovators the world has ever produced," Trump said, "He has stepped forward to offer his tremendous talents in the service of our country, and we appreciate that. I want to say that Elon has worked tirelessly and has led the most comprehensive and results-oriented program of government reform in generations."

"Elon is not actually leaving"

Trump said Musk had brought about a "tremendous" change in the old way of doing business in Washington with DOGE.

"We are determined to make the DOGE cuts permanent and stop even more waste in the months to come," Trump said, explaining that DOGE, under Musk's guidance, has helped detect corruption, reduce waste, and modernize broken and outdated systems.

"Elon's not really leaving. He's going to come back. I think this is his baby and he's going to do a lot of things. Elon's service to America is unparalleled in modern history," Trump said.

"This is not the end of DOGE, it is actually the beginning"

Billionaire businessman Elon Musk also said that his term as a special government employee should end, that this was a limited-term assignment from the beginning. Musk said, "This is not the end of DOGE, it is actually the beginning."

Musk stated that the DOGE team will become stronger and more influential over time, describing it as a "way of life." Musk expressed his confidence that trillions of dollars in savings will be achieved over time.

Musk stated that he will continue to be a "friend and advisor" to US President Trump and said that he will continue to give advice as long as Trump wants it.

"Thanks to the President, the Oval Office has finally regained the grandeur it deserves"

On the other hand, Musk, who drew attention to the beauty of the Oval Office and the gold detail on its ceiling in his speech, said, "Thanks to the President, the Oval Office has finally reached the glory it deserves."

Trump then explained that the ceiling had been covered in plaster for a long time and that no one had ever seen an eagle symbol there. Trump said that they had highlighted this symbol by covering it with 24-karat gold.

Trump also presented Musk with a golden key to the White House for his services as a special government employee.
