The specialist acknowledged that high-impact exercises can exacerbate pain, recommending switching to lower-impact exercises like Pilates and swimming. However, she noted that if pain persists for more than six weeks, a specialist should be consulted, and if necessary, an MRI scan should be used to investigate any underlying cause.

NOT EVERY METHODS ARE EFFECTIVE IN TREATMENT OF BACK PAIN

Dr. Natali's statements align with the findings of new research on back pain treatments. A study conducted by the University of New South Wales found that of 10 treatments used for back pain, only one is effective for acute back pain, while five are effective for chronic back pain.

Dr. Natali, who stated that she prioritizes habits that protect her back health in her own lifestyle, said she takes a probiotic supplement daily, avoids processed foods, and follows a largely anti-inflammatory diet.
