The 400-year-old Barutçu Inn, which was severely damaged in the recent earthquakes, is being restored.

Restoration work at the Barutçu Inn has accelerated under the direction of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar. Detailed technical analyses are being conducted by teams inside the building, and restoration preparations are proceeding meticulously. All work is being carried out without damaging the inn's historical fabric and preserving its original architecture.

Considered together with destinations such as Göbeklitepe, Balıklıgöl and Halfeti, Barutçu Inn is also aimed to contribute to this cultural richness.

Gülpınar, who visited the historical inn and examined the works on site, made the following statements:

Known as the Barutçu Inn, it has been given various names over time. It is said to have been built during the Ottoman period, but some claim it was built in the 19th, 18th, and 17th centuries. It is known as the Jewish Inn because it later passed into the care of a family of Jewish origin.

The Barutçu Inn, which has finally survived to this day with its familiar name, is one of the rare structures in Türkiye. We are currently restoring this three-story inn, which holds great significance. We hope to complete the restoration by the end of November at the latest.
