Former CHP Chairman and journalist Altan Öymen has passed away. The 93-year-old passed away following lung surgery approximately six weeks ago.
Following Öymen's death, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a condolence message.
Making a statement on his social media account, Erdoğan used the following expressions:
"I learned with sorrow the death of the former Chairman of the Republican People's Party, politician, journalist and author Mr. Altan Öymen.
I pray that God has mercy on Mr. Öymen and offer my condolences to his family and the Republican People's Party organization."
