Istanbul responds to President Erdoğan's call for a flag

AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir didn't ignore this call. Özdemir and his son Kağan Özdemir hung a Turkish flag on their balcony and shared the meaningful photo on social media.

Recalling President Erdoğan’s call, Provincial Chairman Özdemir made the following statement:

At the invitation of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, my son, Kagan, proudly hung our glorious flag on our balcony. We demonstrate our love, unity, and faith in this land with the star and crescent. Our Kagans, our Ayşes, our Cans, our Zeyneps, let us all now hoist our flags together, and let our banner of freedom and independence fly proudly.

While Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir's post attracted great attention on social media, many citizens in Istanbul began decorating their homes and workplaces with flags.
