Fire spreads in Tekirdağ! 3 neighborhoods evacuated

A stubble fire that broke out in Tekirdağ's Şarköy district spread to the forest. Driven by strong winds, the blaze spread widely. Following the Şenköy and Kocaali neighborhoods, the Kızılcaterzi neighborhood, which was approaching and threatening the fire, was also evacuated.

Şarköy Mayor Alpay Var stated that the fire had grown and spread to other neighborhoods. Var said, "We evacuated our citizens in the Şenköy, Kocaali, and Kızılcaterzi neighborhoods. We removed the animals with the help of teams. Teams are continuing to move the animals to safe areas. There is no longer a risk in the Kocaali and Şenköy neighborhoods. The risk remains in Kızılcaterzi. Teams are working to prevent the fire from reaching the neighborhood. The fire is still burning in the forested area. Surrounding provinces and all institutions are working hard."

A construction machine veered off the road and slid during work in the Kızılcaterzi neighborhood. Agricultural equipment was also seen burning in the neighborhood.
