The e-commerce giant is gearing up for the holidays. It will hire an additional 250,000 people before Christmas.

As it has done in the past two years, American e-commerce giant Amazon plans to hire approximately 250,000 workers in the United States for the holiday rush. This includes employees responsible for order fulfillment and delivery logistics.
According to information provided by the company, those hired under an employment contract will receive $23 per hour plus additional benefits. Seasonal workers are offered $19 per hour. Additional compensation will be available for night work and overtime.
In September, Amazon announced it would allocate approximately $1 billion to cover healthcare costs for its employees.
Amazon is an online retailer that operates on its own account and as an intermediary for companies offering goods online.
In the United States, it makes 1.2-1.6 million deliveries per day, with the number of orders more than doubling in the run-up to Christmas.
The company generates the largest share of its revenues in the USA (almost 70%), Germany (6.5%), Great Britain (5.9%) and Japan (4.7%).
