Osimhen was injured in the 36th minute of the Nigerian national team's 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers match against Rwanda on September 6.

While the injury worried the yellow-red fans, Okan Buruk, who participated in the live broadcast of NOW Spor, said the following:

"We reached him (Osimhen). The information we received is that he has a pain in his foot. We cannot say 'there is nothing wrong'. We want to bring him to Istanbul as soon as possible and have him checked out."

Today, Galatasaray released the following statement regarding the star footballer's injury, signed by doctor Yener İnce:

“During the examinations performed today at our sponsor hospital for our A-Team player Victor Osimhen, a moderate sprain (stretching and bleeding) was detected in his ankle ligaments and the necessary treatment has been initiated to ensure our player returns to the field as soon as possible.”

According to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the star football player is expected to return to the field within two weeks.

The yellow-reds transferred Osimhen from Napoli for 75 million euros at the end of July.
