Release of 5 Boğaziçi students who did not let Nurettin Yıldız talk!

Theologian Nureddin Yıldız, who drew criticism for his words such as "A woman who is beaten should be grateful until the morning" and "A child who is 6 years old can be married", participated as a speaker in an event at Boğaziçi University on May 13, and the event was protested by students. One of the 6 students who were arrested the next day was released upon objection.

The indictment regarding the protest was accepted today by the Istanbul 69th Criminal Court of First Instance. The court set October 13th for the hearing in the distribution phase and decided to release the defendants, taking into account the time they spent in detention, the fact that they were students, that they had exams, that evidence had been collected and that there was no suspicion of escape.

Following the decision, 5 Boğaziçi University students were released from prison.
