Uzbekistan National Football Team became CAFA Nations Cup champions

Uzbekistan and Iran met in the final of the event organized by CAFA for the second time this year.

The match, played at the Olympic Stadium in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, with RAMS Başakşehir's Abbosbek Fayzullaev and Eldor Shomurodov also playing for Uzbekistan, ended in a goalless draw in normal time.

Uzbekistan won the match 1-0 with a goal from Khodjiakbar Alidjanov in the 120th minute of extra time and won the cup.

Uzbekistan, which won against Iran after 13 years, had previously qualified for the 2026 World Cup to be held in the USA, Mexico and Canada for the first time in its history by successfully qualifying for the World Cup Asian qualifiers.
